After a month long renovation museum staff took off their hard hats and handed over the construction to the children! KTLA was here to share in the fun and kick off our grand opening of our Construction Zone changing gallery exhibit! Joined by the wonderful Wendy Burch of KTLA, kids dressed in hardhats and construction vests to build model structures, drive toy tractors, and learn about famous architects! The celebration continued into the morning where the City of La Habra’s Public Works department provided five construction vehicles for our young visitors to climb up and sit in the driver seat; a unique experience they will remember for years to come!
Our changing gallery exhibit is not the only thing new at the museum! The museum’s mission of water conservation has been extended from our Clubhouse H20 exhibit to our brand spankin’ new Conservation Garden. Little ones will learn to be eco-friendly as they learn about sustainable gardens, composting, drip line irrigation, and will also have the chance to harvest carrots, turnips, and oranges in an interactive display. Our other permanent exhibits have seen a few changes as well. Suit up and check out our new Firefighter station 191 in our Kids on Stage gallery. Interested in the history around you? Well, boy do we have something for you! Visitors will learn about the fascinating history of La Habra and the many milestones in our city’s past in our new Tracks Through Time…A History of La Habra timeline in the Model Train Village.
The staff at the Children’s Museum at La Habra is excited to share all the wonderful changes we have made to our galleries and look forward to your next visit!
